Meet The Team
Mike is originally from Cheshire. He achieved his Bachelors from Bangor University where he conducted research on heat stress and endurance exercise, following this he studied a Masters in Strength and Conditioning at Middlesex University. He has previously done fitness testing across the country at most Premier League football academies and in the hunt for future Olympians. Mike is also the Scholarship-Academy Strength and Conditioning Coach at London Broncos Rugby League. In his downtime, he enjoys Olympic Weightlifting, Golf, Sailing and Road Cycling.
Lee is from Kent originally and an ex professional rugby player who finished his playing career in 2009 after 10 years in the game. After rugby Lee started Athleat (www.athleat.co.uk) a fresh food company in the health and fitness market. He has a Bsc in Sports Science and started MVP to help great young athletes get the chance to excel in sport but also improve the health of the young. He loves training hard and a good steak!
Matthew is from Kent and has been heavily involved in sport throughout his life representing Gravesend RFC and London South East Division in rugby. Currently he resides in Croydon and owns a recruitment business, that knowledge and a passion for Sport means he is driven to help all levels of athlete reach their potential. He has now taken up boxing
April is from London and has previously attained a bachelors (with honours) in Sports Therapy. Her interests heavily lie in Football, with extensive experience in both playing competitively and working as a Sports Therapist for numerous football clubs, and is currently also working at AFC Wimbledon. She is still playing Football, however now enjoys other methods of keeping fit such as running and gym training! She has joined Project MVP as a Sales and Marketing Consultant as well as being hands-on with our fitness events.
Hamzat is originally from Surrey. Having studied his undergraduate degree at Roehampton University he is currently undertaking a part time MSc in strength and conditioning from the university of St Mary’s. Hamzat has worked across several sports but has specialised in rugby (both codes) having worked with several academies and professional sides. He currently works with Brighton and hove Albion womens football club across all age groups. In his spare time he enjoys traveling, 5-a-side football, touch rugby, golf and weightlifting.
Sales & Marketing
Rich has attained a bachelors (with honors) in strength and conditioning and a masters of research in sports and exercise science. He has extensive experience working in elite sport for many years, but most notably within the sport of weightlifting developing numerous talent pathway athletes. Rich is currently the Head Coach at Oaklands Weightlifters and the former Talent Pathway Coach for British Weight Lifting. His particular interests lie within the development of youths and understanding the development of talent, with numerous publications at present and ambitions for many more. Rich is an accredited coach for the UK Strength & Conditioning Association.
